Abstract
The study delves into the introduction of English as a foreign language in
Algerian primary schools, focusing on the Naama region. Thus, this paper
focuses on considering ELT in primary schools. It especially aims at
highlighting the complexities encountered by English teachers at Naama
(primary schools) and makes suggestions for possible winning means. The
research method adopted in this study is an exploratory method in order to
discover the challenges and difficulties for such initiative. Moreover, the study
is based on quantitative and qualitative methods. For data gathering, a
questionnaire and classroom observations have been used as the main tools for
this research. The questionnaire has been answered by (15) English teachers. in
addition, a number of classroom observations have been conducted by the
researchers. The outcomes confirmed that introducing English to the Algerian
primary schools has many challenges and it needs many requirements. These
obstacles and challenges come in a variety of forms, such as organizational and
educational ones
