Item Exploring Grammar Errors Through Error Analysis Approach In Written Expression(centre universitaire Salhi Ahmed Naama, 2024) Himi FatimaIn English, writing is thought to be the most challenging skill. Learners need to take into account certain crucial elements, such as grammar which leads to some communicative problems. The purpose of this study is to identify the common types of grammatical errors made by learners in their writing. It sought to examine the frequency of the errors and what could be done to improve the teaching of English writing .The study was carried out at Salah Eddine Al Ayoubi Middle School. Twenty three pupils were taken randomly as the participants in this research. The study used both qualitative and quantitative research design. The researcher used the writing of fourth year learners’ final tests as the main source of the data .and a questionnaires were administered to teachers which were analyzed. The identified grammatical errors were agreement errors, singular and plural errors, spelling errors, punctuation errors, prepositional errors, omission of words errors, article errors, and repetition errors. James theory becomes the main key in the data analysis. The interpretation of these results highlights a significant challenge in the learners’ grasp of English grammar and vocabulary. The prevalence of verb tense and subject-verb agreement errors suggests difficulties in understanding and applying grammatical rules. Additionally, frequent lexical errors indicate issues with vocabulary acquisition and usage.Based on these findings, several recommendations are proposed. First, targeted grammar instruction focusing on common error types, such as verb tense and subject-verb agreement, should be implemented. Second, vocabulary-building exercises that emphasize proper word choice and collocations are essential. Finally, regular formative assessments and feedback can help learners identify and correct their errors, leading to improved language proficiency. To achieve this objective, an exploratory case study was conducted using a mixed-method approach to investigate teachers’ attitudes and beliefs as well as students’ experiences and views regarding pronunciation and its instruction. Specifically, the study sought to explore the significance of phonetics and phonology in pronunciation instruction. Thirty third-year English department students from Salhi Ahmed University Center of Naama and three of their teachers participated in the research. Both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, including questionnaires and interviews, were employed to gain insight into the perceptions of both students and teachers. The findings revealed that pronunciation, as well as phonetics and phonology, are considered valuable approaches to pronunciation instruction by both teachers and students. However, there were differences noted, particularly in terms of what constitutes pronunciation practice and the goals of pronunciation instruction. Therefore, the general aim of this research is to identify its impact on the level of primary school students’ pronunciation of Naama. The extent to which the pronunciation of students at Al-Dahhawi Primary School in Naama has improved is highlighted through various tools, namely classroom observation and a questionnaire for teachers. The results showed that technology has great importance in improving students’ pronunciation. It also has a positive effect on students, and as for teachers, It helps them improve their performance.Item Exploring the Impact of Cooperative Learning on EFL Learning and Cognitive Abilities(centre universitaire Salhi Ahmed Naama, 2024) Amel TAIBI; Ghania BENHIKELThe present study aims to investigate how the use of cooperative learning strategies can enhance EFL learning outcomes and improve cognitive abilities .In order to achieve this aim, an exploratory case study research is conducted. First, a questionnaire is distributed to EFL second year LMD students’ at Salhi Ahmed university centre. Additionally, a structured interview with teachers’ of English at Salhi Ahmed University centre to collect the necessary data. In practical terms, the data are analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The findings show that both students’ questionnaire and teachers’ interview have revealed that learners’ and teachers’ consider cooperative learning as an important strategy in improving the cognitive abilities. The finding also reveals that many students’ affirm that cooperative learning is beneficial for them to develop their cognitive abilities. At the conclusion of the research work, some recommendations and suggestions are presented for implementing cooperative learning effectively.Item The Impact of The Learners’ Native Language on Teaching and Learning English Speaking Skill(2024) Atbi Bochra; Mekkaoui Amina NadjiaAs English becomes a global lingua franca, understanding the challenges and advantages faced by Arabic speakers in acquiring English speaking proficiency is crucial.This research aims to shed the light on the influence of using the mother language in English as a foreign language on the evolution of the Algerian pupils' speaking skill and its proficiency. In addition, it searches for discovering the teachers viewpoints towards the employment of the learners native language in EFL classes, at DAHAOUI YAHYA Middle school in Naama . In this research two data collection tools were used in order to collect information. A questionnaire was conducted to identify the views of English teachers at DAHAOUI YAHYA middle school in NAAMA, and a class observation to predestine the learners attitudes towards the use of Arabic and its impact. The data collected were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The majority of the results of the questionnaire were positive. They favored using Arabic in teaching English. Whereas the results of the observation revealed that pupils prefer to use the Arabic language, when they do not know the meaning of the word in English as a way to make them comfortable in the expression and to be active with the teacherItem The Impact of Anxiety on Speaking English Performance among Students: The Case of 1st Year LMD Students at Salhi Ahmed University Center of Naama(centre universitaire Salhi Ahmed Naama, 2024) BENMAHI Nasrine; BENDAHOU WissemIn the realm of academia, the pervasive influence of anxiety on students’ verbal expression is a significant area of concern. Actually, the current research deals with the issue of anxiety and its impact on learners' speaking. The primary aim of this research is to dig into the adverse impact that impeds students’ speaking abilities. Also, how its impact students’ willingness to engage in class discussions and deliver presentations. By exploring the multifaceted aspects contributing to this issue. Also, the researchers aim to uncover effective interactions that teachers use to reduce anxiety levels and enable students to communicate confidently in educational settings. To do so, the present research is a case study that uses two main tools to gather data: a questionnaire for students of first-year LMD and interviews with teachers of oral expression at Salhi Ahmed University Center of Naama. Both quantitative and qualitative analyses were used to analyze the data gathered during the academic year 2023/2024. The results obtained from the questionnaire and the interviews revealed that the majority of foreign language learners tend to be anxious when they are asked or when they try to speak, some recommendations are suggested for both teachers and students to decrease anxiety in the classroom.Item Learners' perspectives on enhancing speaking skills out of-class through technology in the Naama environment(centre universitaire Salhi Ahmed Naama, 2024) SLIMANI NAWALTechnology has revolutionized education by providing tools such as computers, tablets, and online resources, which support learning both inside and outside the classroom. Tools like educational websites and mobile apps enhance engagement and practical skill development. Effective use of technology also prepares students for a technologically advanced future, emphasizing its importance in modern education. Additionally, speaking skills are crucial for effective communication, involving fluency, pronunciation, and body language. Developing these skills requires practice and supportive learning environments. Understanding students' perspectives, shaped by their unique experiences and backgrounds, are vital for creating inclusive and motivating educational experiences. Acknowledging and integrating these perspectives into teaching practices can improve engagement, motivation, and academic success, fostering lifelong learning and critical thinking skills. The present study aims at investigating the impact of using technology to enhance speaking from learners’ perspectives. To construct this work, a case study was conducted at Salhi Ahmed University Center in Naama where students from second year license L2 at English department were selected as the sample population. The researchers chose the questionnaire and structured interview as a research instrument to collect data in which distributed to students. The data collected were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings of the study showed that the using technology allows learners to do better by making them working in flexible manner, independently at their own pace .They did however , express dissatisfaction at the lack of training on some technology tools, and other different difficulties an challenges related to the use of the technology programs. Therefore, it was recommended to work better by adopting new effective methods to promote the productivity and the effectiveness of technology in improving speaking in the future.Item Language Influence on Pupils' Pronunciation: Simultaneous Learning of French and English in Third-Year Primary level at Toumi Mohammed Primary School in Naama(centre universitaire Salhi Ahmed Naama, 2024) Boukhalfa Dalila; Khelifi Rim MarwaThe Algerian educational system has recently been modified and more attention has been given to teaching foreign languages, mainly English. The position of English has changed from a subject taught in middle schools to one introduced in primary schools, where French forms part of the curricula. Therefore, pupils are required now to learn two foreign languages simultaneously«French and English». The present study aims to find out whether or not this experience has been successful so far, the present work aims to fill this gap by examining the need to teach foreign languages at an early age the importance of pronunciation, and the factors that affect the correct pronunciation, the anticipated hindering teaching the simultaneous learning of two languages for the Third Year Primary school pupils is successful in Algeria, and the effective methods to face any challenges when acquiring the French and English languages simultaneouslyand parents point of view due to the misterial decision. The study employs a mixed-method approach, using questionnaires to gather data from teachers, parents, and pupils, and classroom observation. The findings suggest that while early exposure to foreign languages can benefit students cognitively, the concurrent teaching of English and French presents challenges, particularly in pronunciation due to language interference and pedagogical factors. Effective teaching strategies, such as multisensory activities and direct instruction, are recommended to reduce these challenges. The study also explores parents' attitudes toward the policy change, revealing a range of views influenced by their educational backgrounds. The research concludes with suggestions for curriculum design and support systems to enhance pronunciation acquisition in the bilingual learning environment.Item Receptive Language Development in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Case study of Amani Ahmed Primary School at Naama City, Algeria.(centre universitaire Salhi Ahmed Naama, 2024) Wafaa MAHDJOUBLanguage is a fundamental aspect of social, emotional, and academic life, playing a significant role in determining an individual's level of independence and adaptability. Our comprehensive topic focuses on individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who encounter challenges in achieving effective communication easily. Understanding the pathways of language development and the factors influencing this development in these children is paramount for identifying their specific needs and directing efforts towards developing effective intervention strategies in educational settings. This memorandum is grounded in a profound understanding of the relationship between autism spectrum disorder and receptive language development. In the initial section of the study, previous literature on the subject matter is included under key headings, providing a robust conceptual framework. Subsequently, the subsequent chapter highlights the methodologies employed, elucidating the study's specific samples, which lead us to the results finally discussed in the third chapter, culminating in recommendations derived from previous research to enhance receptive language development in these children.
